Yerevan History Museum

In 1931 the History Museum of Yerevan was founded. Initially, it had only 2 rooms with 400 exhibits. Over time, the collection grew, that was the reason why the building of the museum was changed several times. In 1936, the museum's collection already had more than 1480 exhibits.

Only in 2002, the museum was moved to the building of the municipality, where it had a special section. In 2007 the main exhibition was opened, and since then the museum has been actively engaged in the process of collecting materials. Today, the museum has more than 98,000 exhibits. 20 works have been published.

Scientific studies are not finished, theky are proceed based on historical sources, new historical pages are revealed.

The museum presents the city from ancient times to the present day. It contains ancient tools, household items, weapons, as well as photos and documents of the city, which tell about the life and lifestyle of the city.
